December 12th and 13th marked the last days of our last PADI Open Water certification dives. Brave divers and instructors visited the site of the JC Morrison to complete the certification process. While outside air temperatures were dropping below 0 degrees celsius the water remained a balmy 8 degrees. No problem for Canadian scuba divers!
The key to conducting a successful course in these temperatures is to keep the students busy and focused on their diving. Getting them in and out of the water quickly is also critical and our Pro Staff did a great job of this. Thanks to our in-water team Marty, Steve, Carlos & Lenka and to Matt for working with me on the surface. It was a chilling yet fun experience!
Congratulations also to our newest PADI Open Water divers! You all did an outstanding job! From this point on, the dives get easier.
Divers enter the chilly water at Centennial Park in Barrie, Ontario for their PADI Open Water Diver certification dives. It’s a good thing the water is warmer than the air!
